I completed my PhD, entitled 'Reconstructing Population Histories in Relation to Ecology', in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Bill Amos at the University of Cambridge. During this time my research focused on demographic reconstructions of populations through the last glacial cycle, primarily using population genetics tools and approaches such as Bayesian Skyline Plots and Species Distribution Models.
I then moved on to become a Research Associate with the Evolutionary Ecology Group, also at the University of Cambridge (PI Prof. Andrea Manica). During this time I used a climate-informed spatial model framework, incorporating genetic data with climatic and environmental variables, to investigate patterns of demographic change during key phases of population expansions.
Today I am the Senior Data Mangager for the ADVANCE study, based at Imperial College London. ADVANCE is the Armed Services Trauma Rehabilitation Outcome Study, investigating long-term physical and mental health outcomes of battlefield injuries. In this role I have oversight of all the study data and work to develop tools for data cleaning and regular quailty control checks. Our team also works to ensure the safe and secure storage of the study data.
